Tonight Scott and I slipped off to the store (grocery, that is)...all the younger kids were put to bed, and Quinn was up. Apparently, Allison had come downstairs while we were gone, and she had Quinn write a note of what she would like to tell us:

"Can you buy me a baby doll or Santa give me one? And a baby bottle, new shoes, new clothes, dress up, new book, new marker, lay by me, swingset for babies with a slide, new pink watch."

I asked Quinn if he prompted some and he said that he would ask her if she had anything else.

This reminded me of a time when Scott was home with just Quinn and Connor. I was going somewhere and they wrote me a note:

"Mom, we were so sad when you left tonight. So we decided to write you a note. We love you more than our house, And I just like you mom. I miss you. I love you so much. We like giving you hugs. Nothing and that's all. -Love, The Boys"

Thanks for letting me take, yet another, trip down memory lane.....

Quinn's a Bulldog Now!
Today was Quinn's graduation from Corey Elementary. It was fun for him, but tough for me. I have a hard time with all this growing up stuff. Quinn is such a good little guy. He received awards, including the boys overall p.e. award. He has always made me so proud to be his mom. I was thinking back through the years..... so excited to be a penguin for penguin day (we cut a white felt oval out and put it on a black sweat shirt), when reading "clicked" in kindergarten, when he was so excited to lose a tooth before first grade started, when he learned to like reading more because of Mr. K, past award ceremonies, safety patrol, chess club, the day he was born, his Clifford on his bed he still sleeps with, his love for the outdoors, baseball, and crafts. I love how he doesn't really care what others think or are going to do. He brought his new Boles Bulldog p.e. uniform to change into for the graduation party after the awards. I will miss having all 3 boys at the same school. He has set up such a nice path for the rest of the kids to follow. What a wonderful boy Quinn is.

Jason and Allison playing.

AND HERE IS TANNER AT BAT AND QUINN AT PITCH. CONNOR AT GOPHER.

QUINN'S TURN AT BAT. TANNER AT PITCH. WATCH TANNER AFTER HE PITCHES.

Last night Scott took video of the boys each taking turns hitting the whiffle balls that Quinn just bought. It is taking awhile to upload the videos. If I am patient enough I will upload all three boys taking their turns at bat.

This is my first attempt to add a video. Well, I need to learn how to do a title right, because it gave me the choice of "family and friends" or "recital." I went with the "family and friends." Allison said it's family, not friends.

Scott and I just laughed and laughed when we saw the video of Tanner pitching to Quinn. Watch what he does after he pitches to Quinn. He does it over and over....

Connor, Connor, Connor. He had his end of the year awards and party yesterday. An exciting thing was him being chosen for the "Susie Greenwood" award. She was a teacher at Corey Elementary and passed away from cancer at a young age. She was kind and wonderful to all. The third grade voted on a boy and a girl to represent this award. Connor and a friend, Audrey Hairrell were the winners of this special award.

The pictures above are some of my favorites. Connor is liking scouts in our new ward (we had a great-boundary-divide just weeks ago). We made a collage last night of the 9 things that make a family happy from the proclamation. This will help him earn an arrow point in Bears.

A couple of Saturdays ago, he help Scott chop up a tree in the backyard. He liked that!

We get creative on Sundays since we don't do screen time and a couple Sundays ago, he made homemade bubbles. That's what he's doing in the last picture above.

Connor played in his first piano recital. He was nervous, but he did it and it was just fine! He'll take lessons this summer and we're hoping he'll learn some movie and pop songs. He loves having a good book to read. He just finished the third book of Fablehaven by Mull. He's read the 1st and 3rd in the trilogy. We haven't found the 2nd one at the library. When we asked a worker at the library, she couldn't seem to find it in the Arlington Public Library System at all! Strange.....only 2 of the 3 in the trilogy.....who orders only book 1 and 3 in a series.....where is #2???
