A few more Christmas day photos

White Christmas!

Looking outside from our front door across the street. Check out all that whiteness.

It's hard to see Connor in the middle photo, but he is holding a huge chunk of ice.

Allison made her 100 piece puzzle twice on Christmas day.

Sometimes, I just wish I could keep the kids little forever. I love the spirit of Christmas!

December 25, 2009

The kids played in the snow on Christmas day. Tanner and Quinn made snow angels.

The presents were exciting and Santa finally got the hint and left a DS for the kids to share.

We ended the day with a game of Imaginiff from our Lehi Greenwoods. The kids had played and played all day long.

I was grateful to be able to sleep some and to cook yummy food and clean up the kitchen (so the kids could play and play.)

It was a good Christmas!

A couple December 24th photos

Keith and Tamara and kiddos had us for Christmas this year on the Greenwood side. We were given some very fun BYU things! I am now the proud owner of a pink BYU t-shirt. I wore it all Christmas day. The kids opened one gift on Christmas Eve. Tanner opened his marbles from Andrew. In no time, there was a circle on the rug made out of tape so that he could try the marbles out! Quinn was shooting his new gun from a Colorado Prince cousin.

Thanks for the fun all you guys.

Christmas Eve 2009

It really snowed on Christmas Eve!
It was quite unbelievable.

We ate a delicious meal at the other Arlington Greenwoods and acted out the nativity.

Dressed for Hit and Run

A tradition from growing up that I like to do with our family now, is to "Hit and Run!" You may be more familiar with "Ding-dong Ditch!" I think it's all the same. Instead of making goodies, we got candies and fruit and assembled them for our friends and neighbors. It's not totally anonymous, as we put reciever's names on the package, and the dead give-away as the kids leave the front porch:

"Hurry, Allison! Run, run, aahhhhh! Ha ha ha!! Shhhh!"

It's so much fun!

(Tanner is sporting his "Hit and Run 2009" athletic clothes. The black shirt and shorts were to keep him hidden, and he is wearing the red and white shirts because he was hopeful to be sleeping outside that night in the backyard in the tent. And he's wearing his cleats because he couldn't find his shoes. Wow, he looks fantastic!)

Why we went with a collage this Christmas

I don't think I need to explain this much more.

Tanner is Nine!

Happy Birthday, Tanner! What a fun boy to have in our family. Tanner scored with a new t-shirt, some money, a game cube game, a game boy game, and a charger for the game boy to get it back into play. He got blueberry bagels, juice, bacon and eggs for breakfast "in bed." (It ended up at the kitchen table.)

Tanner likes:
Little Caesar's pizza
cake and ice cream
Hershey's milk chocolate bars
red and black
screen time
#5 - cause my # for football was 5, and I did good that year
light saber (from Eldon)
football

Tanner doesn't like:
salmon

Tanner's Birthday at Museum

For Tanner's birthday, we went to the newly updated
Ft. Worth Museum of Science and History.
Quinn was on a scout camp-out,
but the day was open for the rest of us to celebrate Tanner's special day.
They did dino dig:
it wasn't as much fun as Tanner had remembered it, but there were also lots of people there, too.
The kids explored the light room, craft room, and tinkering.
We also watched an experiment using liquid nitrogen (I think).
We saw "Animalopolis" in the Omni Theater IMAX.
Tanner and Connor made a chocolate cake on Sunday for us to enjoy.
Happy 9th Birthday, Tanner!!!!!

All I want for Christmas.....

....is my two front teeth!!!!

I have had so much fun teasing her about missing her two front teeth for Christmas.
Sweet, smooth smile!
Love that little girl.

Santa knows where we live

He came over on a Wednesday evening,
just before the older boys left for scouts.

Merry Christmas!!!!

Tinkertoys

Aren't Tinkertoys the best?

And, of course, neighbors who will play tinkertoys with you!

Connor cello concert

We enjoyed going to Connor's orchestra holiday concert before school let out for the holidays. He was nervous. He played very well. We are so proud of him. He is very diligent in his practicing, usually practicing in the morning before school. Tanner tore paper into bits during the concert, and I got the chance to have Allison sit with me (heaven).

Tanner block of ice

We like to set out water in cups on the trampoline if it's going to freeze (and we remember). I think this was a school morning in December, and it had definitely been a COLD night!

Random photos

Just some random photos......

Snow Christmas Eve

Well, it came as a surprise....we had snow on December 24th, Christmas Eve.
It was quite windy and such soft fluffy snow.
The kids played in it both on Christmas Eve and Chrismas Day.
That made such a nice touch to Christmas this year, after going through the disappointment of the adoption falling through.
There's been some sadness around here.
But, there's also been lots of laughing and smiling, too.
It'll all work out (I'm not sure how anymore), but that's what I have to believe ;)

Some Soccer

A few more soccer photos from Connor's Strikers team this fall.

Dressing up

Dressing up....good to see my old prom dress put to use (thanks, Connor).

Sunday Connor

Just a Sunday......

Backtrack Pumpkins

Back in October, likely, we carved pumpkins with family and friends:
