A project

Well, well, well...

Allison and I have a couple of projects.
She's going to have some new little skirts for her dollies,
and I'm going to make new kitchen towels with a little
brown checked ribbon on them.

But the sewing machine won't be brought out just yet,
because I need to be making some french bread pizza right now....

so that Quinn will have dinner before his pre-UIL orchestra practice this evening.

Connor is spending the evening at Kenneth's, a friend from school. Tanner informed me that he doesn't like the sandwiches I make him for school.
What else can I put in a lunch for the "main thing" that isn't a sandwich? Suggestions, please.

Just some things we say

MSOCO

Mom, does that spell "Mexico?" -Allison

Quinn was looking at scouting stuff (the beltloop book) and commented that school gets in the way of these kinds of things!

When Allison was at the library yesterday,
she was trying to play computer games,
but "the handle -- they don't even move." (the mouse)

Connor broke the side of his glasses off (you know, the part that goes over your ear) at school. He told Scott, "Hey daddy, this would be good for roasting hot dogs." That would be good, Connor, since they aren't good for holding glasses on anymore!

It's a school holiday tomorrow.

Connor set up the tent in the extra-bedroom.

And there will be a camp-out tonight!

Dresses, Dirt and Valentine's Party

All

After their Valentine's party at Mrs. Talley's, Allison and her darling pre-school friend got to come home with us for a little while.

They danced around inside and also played outside...

...they were getting doodlebugs (rolie-polie bugs), slugs, worms, etc. from the water gauge box in the front yard!

Tooth

Allison lost her first tooth!!!!

It's actually the one on the bottom. (She has a space inbetween her top teeth that looks like a lost tooth.)

She worked on it all day. Scott pulled it out at dinner time.

Quinn is helping me remember
what she said.
Something like...
"That didn't hurt.
Now can I call Christine?!?!"

Yes, my heart is broken. Not only did Allison need to tell Christine that day about her tooth, but I needed Christine, too, to remind me that this will be just one of many firsts!

Anther idea of Quinn's

About a week ago, Quinn got crafty. He took apart Allison's old bicycle.
He
sewed (with the sewing machine) a seat for a creation he was going to make with the wheels from the taken-apart bicycle.
The Dangerous Book for Boys had the idea for making a go-cart-like thing. Unfortunately it didn't work.

Quinn's wheels are always turning. My blow dryer recently bit the dust....who knows where its parts will end up!

Webelos Awards

Connor received some Webelos Awards this month....
